Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I hire a dog walker/pet sitter?

A tired dog is a happy dog! Not only will a walk provide exercise to prevent troublesome behavior due to boredom, it's excellent for their health and socialization. Seeing, hearing, feeling and smelling everything the outdoors has to offer is stimulation at its finest. You'll know your pet is well taken care of during an in-home visit with Steel Valley Wag because we'll give your pet one-on-one attention like they are our own. In-home visits are also a great way to give a potty break, supply fresh water or feed your furry loved one when you can't be there. Plus, we take some pretty awesome photos to send you!

Why in-home care vs. boarding?

If you have a pet who is antisocial, have concerns giving multiple vaccines that boarding facilities require or just prefer that your pet has familiar surroundings, in-home care is a great option. Being away from your pet is stressful, and we ease that stress in the comfort of your home... you won't have to pack up any of your pets things either!

At Steel Valley Wag, we recommend that young puppies and seniors are not boarded as they need to stay on a strict schedule and avoid possible contagious illnesses.

Who comes to my home?

Thank you for putting your trust in me. During the meet & greet you'll be introduced to your dog walker/pet sitter before any services begin. This will be the only person in your home for any visits. Tiffany owns the company and works with Taryn.

Do you service my area?

We service Austintown and surrounding areas. Contact us, if we don't have availability I can certainly recommend another pet sitter that I trust.

What vaccines do you require?

We require that your animals are up to date on their rabies vaccine and that they are also licensed according to your county's ordinance.

What kind of pets do you care for?

Dogs, cats, birds, backyard chickens and a variety of pocket pets.
